Mavs vs Bucks

Hi,

this week we drove up the road to Dallas to see the Mavs play. Monday was MLK Day, a public holiday. So Allen, Florian and I left early in the morning to have plenty of time in Dallas. We had a look around in downtown and a nice late lunch before made our way to the ticket office. Lucky they had student tickets for 10$ that night.
The game was good too and the mavs finally won by nineteen. Dirk had a good day with 35 points. Would be a shame to be in the arena twice without a win, knowing that Dallas only lost 9 games the whole season so far.

Well, next time we go up there, I guess we have to find out how many beers Dallas is away .....

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Hi.

This week finally was the day. At least in two ways. First Ellen was flying back to Europe and second one of the most important games in US Sports was settelt to find the National College Football Champion at the Rosebowl in Pacedino, Ca. Tickets on Ebay were sold for above 3000$. Unbelievable isnt it. In the morning I had to say bye to Ellen. The time we drove to the airport the whole city was already wearing orange. Even employees of HEB and banks wore orange shirts. The Univesity of Southern California was facing UT. As they where playing right outside LA it almost was a homegame for USC. The game started at 7 pm, but before we went to get to get some of the good german wheat stuff! It also was Florians birthday, so there was some more beer to kill. Thanks for that.

Thhe game itself was good. UT had a slow start, but got better at the end. However, they where still facing a 12 point deficit late in the 4th quater, before once again Vince took over. Thus, 19 seconds before the end a tochdown gave UT the lead for good. 39:38. After a 2 point conversion play the game was over and UT became the National Champions 2006. The first title in 36 years.
From now on the city was driving crazy. Cars blowing their horns everywhere. We immideately drove downtown to 6th street where everybody was freaking out too. At midnight, right after the game, stores opened to sell shirts and in the early morning hours the local newspaper was sold out. Crazy America! In the next weeks the US will be spread with UT Longhorns Cornflakes and orange Coke cans. Wow ;-)

New Years Eve

!!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

to everyone out there woh is reading this. Yesterday 6th was packed as never before, every club charged cover and there where lines everywhere. We came in pretty late because Ellen was not feeling to good that night. So we only spend around 2h in downtown before we left to return to CE for more drinks.

Another day we went for dinner to Hooters and since all of us where hungry as hell, we ordered 50 wings plus fries. Tell you, I had never seen that many wings in one place. It was a feast. Have a look ;-)
