Roadtrip Southwest Texas

Hi, time for an update.

Since my parents were here over the last two weeks, we did quite some traveling around southwest Texas and a little bit of Mexico and New Mexico. It felt good to see them after almost 10 month.
Here is a brief itinerary of our 5 day road trip Day 1 we spent in San Antonio before we took off to the boarder. We went to Mexcio at Eagle Pass and Del Rio, were we spent the second night. On day 3 we drove to Big Bend NP were the temperatures were insanely hot. 112 degrees. The highlight of the day was a closed gas station. We came there driving already on E and the gas station was surprisingly out of power. After waiting 20 min they closed, so we were forced to make it to the next one. We luckily made it, due to driving on neutral downhill most of the time. The NP itself is astonishing, go there if you have a chance. Next day we drove into New Mexico to visit the Carlsbad Caverns NP, the largest caverns in the western hemisphere. I felt like in Lord of the Rings, without the fenced path you definitely would get lost down there. To give you an idea, its as large as 4 airplanes. On our last day we visted White Sands NP and El Paso. Once again we went across the boarder where we went to a market. On Tuesday we went back to Austin just stopping at Fredericksburg for a german lunch. Yammie, they serve good food at the Ausländerbiergarten.

Now Im back in Austin, my parents are gone and I gotta deal with an OZI ;-) More about that next time.

Begleiterinnen (s.Mexico). Dream team, cover girl, big boss, lucky student! Have a good time in Texas. Würzburg is waiting for you.
